I have always wondered: I know that we stay on the earth because the amount of gravity pushing on us depends on our wieght but what about clouds? Since clouds have very little mass why are clouds under earth's gravity? Is there a wieght limit on earth's gravity or is thier just another force besides gravity keeping them from floating into deep space?
Good question! Despite clouds little mass, they are still very much under the influence of the Earth's gravitational pull. Actually, I think you would be surprised how much a cloud really weighs! We will actually discuss the density of air, water and perhaps even clouds in this chapter. :)
